GLOSSARY
Glossary
A collection of the terms used on this site. We explain, in plain language, the ideas that span branding, organizational development, and AI implementation, along with .Re-sign’s own service names.
BRAND
Brand & Philosophy
- .Re-sign
- The company name. It means “to design value again (sign / design), once more (Re).” It represents the “redesign” of a brand or a business.
- The courier of value Mission
- Finding the value that already exists and delivering it to the people who need it. This is the role .Re-sign plays.
- The cycle of value Vision
- Nurturing a state where everyone involved feels pride, and value keeps circulating. This is the future we’re working toward.
- Trinity
- The idea of designing branding & marketing, HR systems, and AI & IT together as one, through a single hand, rather than treating them separately.
- The two pillars of management
- The idea of narrowing the goals that maximize corporate value down to two: “revenue,” aimed at customers, and “productivity,” aimed at employees. Revenue is created through branding and accumulated through marketing; productivity is built through standardization, automation, and KAI implementation, and its effect grows the more employees feel the brand. Branding sits at the root of both pillars.
- Core competence
- Your company’s own inherent strength. It’s the foundation on which the three initiatives overlap to create competitive advantage.
VALUE
How We See Value
- Inherent value Source
- The total value a company actually holds. It includes things not yet put into words — technology, quality, history, the raw material of a story.
- Perceived value
- The portion of inherent value that the other person actually “perceives.” It’s created at every touchpoint, and fades away if left unattended.
- Brand value
- What forms when perceived value is delivered repeatedly and consistently, and settles into an “image” inside the other person’s mind. It accumulates through “perceived value × consistency × time.”
- Benefit
- The types of value customers and employees receive. We capture it through five categories: Functional, Emotional, Self-expression, and Social, plus Heritage, which lifts all four.
- The value box
- A framework for taking stock of where value lives. It has two floors and eight boxes in total: the product itself (basic / convenience / sensory / conceptual) and the company itself (philosophy / people & conduct / relationships & society / history & trust). The boxes that stay empty are exactly where the room to grow is.

METRICS
Metrics & Concepts
- Branding
- The work of deciding “what you get chosen for.” It digs up your company’s value and gives it words and form. Its role differs from the work of delivering (marketing) — keep increasing your output while this stays empty, and the content only grows thinner.
- Marketing
- The work of continuing to communicate what you’ve decided. In the brand-value formula “perceived value × consistency × time,” it carries the consistency and the time. A one-off message never becomes an asset, precisely because it’s missing this “continuing.”
- Productivity
- Output ÷ input. It’s not about cutting costs — it’s about how much more value you can generate from the same input. Cut people and input goes down, but so does output.
- Standardization & automation
- Turning work that depends on one person into a form that produces the same quality no matter who does it (standardization), and handing off the parts that don’t need a human hand to machines (automation). Together they form the foundation of productivity.
- Stock / Flow
- Stock = an asset that accumulates and keeps working. Flow = something that’s created in the moment and disappears. Both brand value and organizational strength are stock — a different nature from something like ad spend, which disappears once it’s used.
- KGI
- The indicator of the ultimate goal management is aiming for (Key Goal Indicator).
- KPI
- The intermediate indicator for achieving the KGI (Key Performance Indicator).
- KAI
- The indicator at the level of concrete, everyday action (Key Action Indicator). It breaks down what you’ve decided into daily actions you can count.
- Inner branding
- Branding aimed inward, at your own company. It raises employees’ empathy, pride, and intrinsic motivation — cultivating people who run the system out of autonomy rather than being made to, which maximizes the effect on productivity.
- Outer / Inner
- Outer = aimed outward, at the market and customers. Inner = aimed inward, at the organization and its people. Designing both with the same hand is what sets .Re-sign apart.
- HARD × SOFT
- The idea of treating systems and mechanisms (HARD) and organization and people (SOFT) as one, transforming both as two wheels of the same vehicle.
